About The St. Andrew Society of Tallahassee

The St. Andrew's Society of Tallahassee is a tax-exempt, non-profit, all volunteer, charitable organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Scottish heritage through its history, literature, folklore, customs, traditions, music, dance, dress and more. Though named after the Patron Saint of Scotland, the Tallahassee St. Andrew’s Society is not a religious organization, nor is it affiliated with any religion. The goals and purpose of the Society include historical, educational, cultural, charitable, and philanthropic activities, in addition to the development of and participation in recreational and cultural events which further promote Scottish interest within the Big Bend community.

We welcome all who wish to share their love of Scotland, Scottish heritage and culture. Membership is open to all & you don't have to be Scottish to belong.

Throughout the year SAS provides several opportunities for its members and their guests to gather in celebration and recognition of all things Scottish. There are international holidays and events, such as Robert Burns' birthday, St. Andrews Day, and Tartan Day, but there are also covered dish socials & picnics. St. Andrew members are also active community members for which the Society oftens lends support or sponsorship to events such as The Tallahassee Highland Games & Celtic Festival and Springtime Tallahassee, just to mention a few.

The Society also produces a newsletter, The St. Andrews Cross 4-5 times a year.
